Our story

Clever Horse Ranch began as a family passion—just a few horses, some open land, and a love for sharing the joy they bring. We're located in Cleveland, Tennessee, and while we’re still working on growing into a full-time business, our hearts are fully in it

We offer riding lessons, trail rides, and horse-themed birthday parties both here at the ranch and at your location. We’ve even started offering photoshoots with our trusted photographer, Diana Frick. Each step we take is focused on giving people a safe, fun, and memorable experience with horses. We may be a small operation, but we’re growing every day and we’re so excited to have you along for the ride.

Our history

Clever Horse Ranch didn’t start with horses at all—just cows and a quiet piece of land. For a long time, nothing much happened here. It wasn’t a business, just a farm that sat still. Then came an idea. After some time and a little convincing, the first horse joined the herd. That one horse changed everything. What was once just pasture and cattle started to grow into something more. Now, Clever Horse Ranch is slowly becoming a place where people can enjoy riding lessons, birthday parties, and time spent around animals. We’re still growing and learning, but we’re proud of how far we’ve come—and we’re just getting started.

Can parents, friends, or family watch riding lessons?

Yes! We welcome parents and family members to come watch lessons

Can I bring my own photographer for a photoshoot or party?

Yes, outside photographers are welcome with advance notice. They’ll need to sign a waiver when they arrive and follow our ranch safety guidelines.

Do you offer your own photographer for photoshoots and events?

We sure do! Our in-house photographer is available for personal photoshoots, birthday parties, and special events. Packages can be added when you book your event.

Can parents take pictures or videos during lessons and parties?

You’re welcome to take photos and videos from outside the arena and petting zoo fence. For safety reasons, no one is allowed in the arena or animal enclosures unless part of the scheduled activity.

Can we bring outside food, decorations, or party favors to birthday parties?

Yes! You’re welcome to bring your own food, cake, drinks, and decorations. Just let us know ahead of time so we can plan space and cleanup. No glass containers or confetti, please.

Can Clever Horse Ranch host other events like reunions, church outings, or school field trips?

Absolutely — we love hosting all kinds of gatherings! Reach out to us for availability and custom package options.

Do I need to book a photoshoot separately from a birthday party or event?

If you’d like a professional photoshoot during your event, it’ll need to be booked ahead of time as an add-on. You can also schedule a private session on a separate date.

Can younger siblings who aren’t riding still visit the ranch during lessons?

Yes, younger siblings and family can hang out in the viewing area or visit the petting zoo (with supervision) while lessons are going on.
